Day 31
I’ve experienced tremendous outpourings of love and support over the last couple of months, from both friends and strangers. It’s all very inspiring, but I’m especially touched by the strangers that have made my life easier and happier. Some I will never meet….
Like those who personally signed a card with messages of love. I had found information about an organization that provides a free skull cap to anyone in need, and added my mailing address to request a cute pink one.
The cap is great, but what brought me the most joy was the card that was enclosed. What an awesome thought!
Then there’s the local salon owner who gives new, free wigs to chemo patients. When I asked her if she was a cancer survivor she told me no, but she thought this was a good way for her to give back.
Random Acts of Kindness
You may never know what your random acts of kindness may mean to the strangers that share your world. I once heard the story of a boy who emptied his school locker one day. While walking home, trying to manage his massive load, another kid that he didn’t know offered to help. They became very close friends and sometime later, the second boy asked his friend why he had emptied his locker on that fateful day. The response was shocking. The boy, who was the object of bullying at school, was in such desperate pain that he had planned to take his own life that night. This sensitive child, despite his own anguish, had emptied his locker so that his parents wouldn’t have to manage this difficult task.
Whether it’s a true story or not, the message is amazing. Your gestures of kindness may mean more to another person than you could ever imagine!
God Bless!
