Facing Death

Day 20

After 3 long months of hospice, God has finally answered our prayers and taken my mother in law home. Hers was the most difficult death I’ve ever witnessed.

This strong, independent woman slowly withered away  piece by piece, leaving behind the shrunken flesh covered skeleton of a woman who was almost unrecognizable.

We’ve been praying for the call to come, telling us her suffering had ended, and finally today the wait was over.

Yes there are tears for the loss of this beloved mother and grandmother, but they are wiped dry by an overwhelming sense of peace and gratitude.

Our joy comes from knowing that she is with god, surrounded by beauty and love. She will never again experience pain, fear, sickness, or any of the other numerous evils that Satan uses to attack us here on earth. How do I know she is assured of salvation? Because she  accepted Jesus Christ as her savior during those long, excruciating months prior to her death.

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave is alive in those of us who renounce and ask forgiveness for our sins, ask Jesus to become lord of our lives, and invite him into our hearts.

If you are a Christian I implore you to share this message with others. If you are not a Christian I beg you to give this some serious consideration. It will change you, and most likely those closest to  you, forever!
