Day 6
As I shared in an earlier post, I was shocked to learn that my prescription co-pay will be $1,800 for every 21 day supply. If you have insurance but are still responsible for exorbitant co-pays, you may be eligible for assistance through a co-pay relief program.
The programs typically cover a variety of medical issues, and offer help based on your diagnosis and their availability of funds for that diagnosis. In my case, I found a match on my 4th or 5th phone call. Each foundation covers a variety of diseases and has different eligibility requirements.
I’ve listed a few below, beginning with the foundation that gave me a $5,000 grant. Over the next few weeks I’ll continue to research the matter in depth and will update this post with additional program information.
